What is stewardship?>>

Stewardship is the lifestyle of one who accepts Christ as Lord, walking in partnership with Him, acting as His agent to manage all of God’s affairs here on earth.

Stewardship is a relationship between God and us as His stewards.
Eg. Master - Servants
Creator - Creatures
Redeemer - Redeemed
Giver - Receivers
Provider - Receivers
Protector - Secured
Father - Sons and Daughters
In this relationship, God requires that His stewards be “faithful”( 1 Cor.4:2)

Stewardship is the Lifestyle of one who has accepted Christ’s Lordship.

a. HAS THE POWER TO LIVE
I am crucified with Christ and i no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Gal. 2:20
b. HAS THE POWER TO SUBMIT
We are God’s workmanship, created to do good works. Eph. 2:10
c. HAS THE POWER TO GIVE
It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35
d. HAS THE POWER TO SERVE
Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. Mark 10:45
e. HAS THE POWER TO ABIDE
If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit. John 15:5

Stewardship – it really is Worship.

a. HAS THE POWER TO GIVE
For God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
b. HAS THE POWER TO LOVE
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matt. 22:37
c. HAS THE POWER TO TRUST
God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering. Genesis 22:8
d. HAS THE POWER TO SURRENDER
Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Rom. 12:1
e. HAS THE POWER TO HONOUR
Worship Him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water. Rev. 14:7

The important issue in Stewardship is “Letting God be God!”.

Stewardship is based on who God is!

God is Creator Incomparable, transcendent, immanent and creative.
God is Sovereign Free and autonomous.
God is Saviour The Father gave His Son as ransom, He is coming back.
God is Love Creation manifests His love.
God is Owner Of the earth, sea, mountains, money, our body.
God is Personal Intimate with man – Sanctifier.

When we are in partnership with Him, our lifestyle should be an effective tool for reaching out to others. As Christ has said, if I would be lifted up, I will draw all men to me.” This can be a fulfilment of the Go Tell the World message.
